Laser safety training is: Required for personnel using class 3B or 4 lasers, including laser operators and maintenance and service personnel. Recommended for personnel working with class 1, 2, and 3R laser systems containing embedded class 3B or 4 lasers.
Training: You can view the Laser Safety Online Training video on Microsoft Stream (McGill log-in required). Those working with class 3B and/or 4 lasers are required to participate in the Occupational Health Program, and need to complete a baseline eye exam.
The intent of this training module is to provide general laser safety training to operators of Class 3b and 4 research lasers. This training is supplemental to laser-specific training provided by the PI of the lab utilizing the laser.
