How do I get FAA Part 61 Training??

The training is free and available on the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) website. There are three courses: Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Initial (ALC-451) – Current Part 61 certificate holders are eligible to take this course.

How do I satisfy the UAS recurrent training requirement??

Small UAS-rated Part 61 pilot certificate holders with a current flight review may satisfy the UAS recurrent training requirement by completing ALC-677 or by completing ALC-451, Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Initial, or ALC-515, Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Recurrent, as appropriate.

How do I enroll in FAA courses??

Learn more about the FAA courses. To enroll, pilots will need to have or create a no-fee account on FAAsafety.gov. ALC-677, Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) Recurrent—Non-Part 61 Pilots is for pilots who hold only a 107 certificate.

When will the FAA recurrent training course be available??

The final ruling on the changes has been filed on January 15th and it will be available on the FAA website 45 days after publication. This will be in March 2021. From that day, the recurrent training course should already be up at www.faasafety.gov. However, official implementation will only start 15 days after the rule is effective.
